Unit 5 Old toys Part A Let's spellTeaching Saying ManuscriptDear judges,Good [morning/afternoon]!It is my great honor to present my teaching plan for "Part A Let'sspell"in Unit 5"Old toys"from the English textbook for Grade 3,Volume 2 of People'sEducation Edition.Now,I will elaborate on my teaching design from the following aspects.I.Analysis of the Teaching MaterialThis teaching period mainly focuses on the pronunciation rule of the "u-e"lettercombination in words.It presents words containing the "u-e"combination,such as "cute,""use,""tube,""excuse,""mute,"etc.Through word listing,pronunciation demonstrations,andinteresting practice activities,students are guided to discover and summarize thepronunciation rule of the "u-e"combination in these words,and are encouraged to apply therule in word spelling and reading,strengthening their mastery of the pronunciation pattern.The textbook is equipped with vivid pictures and simple rhyming contexts,which helpstudents understand word meanings and enhance their memory of the pronunciation.Meanwhile,various listening,speaking,reading,and writing exercises are designed,likecircling word cards upon hearing words,circling letters and writing words after listening tothe recording.These activities enable students to master the pronunciation rule proficientlyand apply it to practical word recognition and spelling.ll.Analysis of the StudentsThird-grade students are at the initial stage of phonics learning,with a strong curiosity butlimited phonetic knowledge.The teaching approach of this lesson,starting with aninteresting rhyming chant,groups words with the same pronunciation rule together.Thisallows students to discover the commonalities in letter pronunciation while chanting,which ishighly engaging and in line with their cognitive characteristics.Subsequently,the auxiliary methods of reading,listening,and circling words help studentsdistinguish the pronunciation of the learned words.The oral practice session encouragesstudents to read words aloud and exchange their feelings about pronunciation,which isbeneficial for them to internalize the knowledge.Finally,the writing tasks,starting fromsimple copying of learned words and gradually advancing to spelling new words according tothe pronunciation rule,follow a step-by-step process that matches students'languagelearning and cognitive laws.However,due to individual differences,some students may stillstruggle with accurately pronouncing words or applying the rule flexibly in real-lifecommunication.
