Unit 5 Fruit-Cartoon Time"(Period 1)Good morning/afternoon,esteemed interviewers!I am truly honored to present my teachingplan for the first period of "Unit 5 Fruit",specifically the "Cartoon Time".In this presentation,Iwill comprehensively elaborate on my teaching design,aiming to create an engaging,effective,and meaningful English learning experience for students.I.Analysis of the Teaching MaterialThe "Lead-in"section of Unit 5 initiates the learning journey with the Big Question"Why doyou like fruit?".It sets three learning objectives:talking about fruits,asking others about theirpossessions,and planning to make fruit salads.The unit theme picture,depicting a fruitstore,presents the overall learning context.A rhythmic poem about fruits serves as a warm-up activity,guiding students to observe pictures,listen to and read the poem,and explorethe topic,thus initially perceiving the unit theme.The "Cartoon Time"story revolves around Sam performing magic tricks with mangoes forBobby.Sam conjures up one mango,then two.Just as Bobby is amazed,the two mangoesfall out of Sam's clothes,making Bobby burst into laughter.Finally,Sam and Bobby sharethe mangoes,with Bobby expressing his gratitude and love for mangoes.Regarding the"What",the story vividly unfolds the magic-trick process and the sharing moment.For the"Why",it showcases friendly interactions between friends,guiding students to learn how tocommunicate about fruits,enhancing their social skills and sharing awareness.The end ofthe story stimulates students to think about the characteristics of fruits and express theirpreferences.In temms of the "How",through daily conversations in the magic-trick context,ituses sentence patterns like "Do you have..."and "I have..."to ask about and talk about fruits.The sentence "Let's share the mangoes!"presents the spirit of sharing,while "I like mangoes.They're sweet."shows how to express love for fruits and the reasons.ll.Analysis of the StudentsThird-grade students have already acquired some basic English vocabulary and sentencepatterns,enabling them to engage in simple daily conversations.Their prior knowledge ofbasic vocabulary such as colors and numbers lays a foundation for learning fruit names andrelated sentence patterns in this unit.Fruits,being familiar in daily life,highly arouse theirlearning interest.These students prefer learning through intuitive means like pictures,realobjects,and games,as their abstract thinking ability is still weak and they rely on concreteimages for understanding.They show great enthusiasm for learning content related to dailylife,especially when it involves activities such as songs,games,and role-playing.Ill.Four -Dimensional Objectives of Core Competencies1.Language Competence:Students will master core vocabulary related to fruits,accurately pronounce and use sentence patterns for asking about and talking about fruits.They will also grasp the pronunciation rules of letters "m"and "n".
