Unit 4 This is my friend"(Period 1:Cartoon Time)Good morning/afternoon,esteemed interviewers!It is my great honor to present the teachingplan for the first period of "Unit 4 This is my friend",specifically the "Cartoon Time".I willcomprehensively elaborate on my teaching design from multiple aspects,aiming todemonstrate a well -structured and effective teaching approach.I.Analysis of the Teaching MaterialThe "Cartoon Time"of "Unit 4 This is my friend"unfolds a vivid after-school interactionscene through short dialogues.After school,Bobby and Sam bid farewell to their classmatesamicably.Then,when Bobby meets his sister Tina,he introduces his friend Sam to her,butTina runs away in fear.The Lead-in section,as the starting point of this unit,introduces the unit theme with the Bigquestion "How do you introduce your friends?"and proposes two leaming objectives:mutualintroduction among friends and introducing friends to family members.It presents thelearning context through the unit theme picture,using activities like looking at pictures,listening to dialogues,and watching videos as warm -up exercises to guide students toinitially perceive the unit theme and start their learning with thoughts about the Big question.For the "Cartoon Time"text,in terms of "What",it showcases common greeting expressionsand the process of introducing friends.Regarding "Why",it serves to teach students how tointroduce friends in English,helping them understand social interactions in English-speaking contexts and fostering a friendly and polite social attitude.From the perspective of"How",it repeats greeting phrases such as "Goodbye","Hello","Hi","Nice to meet you",andintroduces the new sentence patterns "This is Sam.He's my friend",guiding students toinitially understand the theme of "introducing friends"in this unit.ll.Analysis of the StudentsThird-grade students can already engage in simple greetings with friends and have a basicunderstanding of their friends.However,they lack the ability to introduce their friends toothers.This unit continues the topic of "friends",aiming to enable students to introduceothers based on their existing knowledge about friends and cultivate a positive attitudetowards making friends.At this stage,students are full of curiosity and enthusiasm for newknowledge but may still face challenges in mastering new language structures andexpressing themselves fluently.They need more interactive and practical activities toenhance their language learning.Ill.Four -Dimensional Objectives of Core Competencies1.Language Competence:Students will be able to identify relevant characters with thehelp of unit theme pictures,audios,and videos,and initially perceive how to introducefriends.They will master the pronunciation,writing strokes,and grid positions of letters Ll,Mm,Nn through activities of finding,listening,reading,and writing.
