Unit5 Thecolourfulworld第2课时PartALettersandsoundsDear judges,Good [morning/afternoon]!It is my great honor to present my teaching plan for Unit 5 TheColorful World,the 2nd period.Now,I will elaborate on my teaching design from thefollowing aspects.I.Analysis of the Teaching MaterialThis 2nd-period lesson,"Letters and Sounds",is a phonics-focused class primarilydedicated to the study of the pronunciation and phonetic rules of English letters Qq,Rr,Ss.Tt,Uu.As an essential part of English language learning,phonics instruction at this stagehelps students establish a fundamental connection between letters and their sounds.By theend of this lesson,students are expected to be proficient in listening,speaking,reading,andwriting these five letters.They should not only master the sounds and forms of the letters butalso gain an initial understanding of how these letters function in words,enabling them toapply basic phonetic rules to spell and read words containing these letters.This lesson playsa crucial role in enhancing students'phonetic awareness and laying a solid foundation fortheir future language acquisition,integrating seamlessly with the overall theme of the unitwhile focusing on developing essential language skills.ll.Analysis of the StudentsAt this learning stage,students have already been exposed to a certain amount of Englishlearning,including basic vocabulary and simple sentence patterns.However,when it comesto the precise pronunciation of letters and understanding their phonetic rules,they still facechallenges.Their existing knowledge of English phonetics is relatively limited,and they maystruggle with accurately distinguishing and imitating the sounds of new letters,especially inthe context of words.Additionally,their writing skills for English letters need systematictraining to ensure correct stroke order and form.On the positive side,students at this ageare highly curious and receptive to new learning experiences.They are more likely toengage actively in lessons that are interactive,visually appealing,and full of fun.Therefore,in teaching,it is necessary to design teaching activities that combine educational value withentertainment,utilize diverse teaching resources,and create immersive learningenvironments to help students overcome difficulties,stimulate their interest in phonics,andimprove their overall English language proficiency.lll.Four -Dimensional Goals of Core Competencies1.Language AbilityStudents will be able to perceive,summarize,and master the pronunciations of letters Qq,Rr,Ss,Tt,Uu and their corresponding sounds in words through rhythmic chants,sound-segmenting activities,and other phonetic training exercises.They will also be able to writethese letters correctly,following the standard writing requirements,thereby enhancing theirbasic language skills in pronunciation and writing.
