Unit4 Plantsaroundus第2课时PartALettersandsounds-Dear judges,Good [morning/afternoon]!It is my great honor to present my teaching plan for Unit 4 Plantsaround us,the 2nd period.Now,I will elaborate on my teaching design from the followingaspects.I.Analysis of the Teaching MaterialThis 2nd-period lesson,"Letters and Sounds",is a phonics class mainly focusing on thepronunciation and pronunciation rules of English letters Mm,Nn,Oo,Pp.As a fundamentalpart of English language learning,phonics helps students build a connection between lettersand their sounds,which is crucial for their future reading,writing,and vocabularydevelopment.Through this lesson,students are expected to be able to listen,speak,read,and write these four letters.Moreover,based on mastering the sounds and forms of theletters,they should initially grasp how these letters are pronounced in words and be able toapply phonics rules to attempt spelling words containing these letters.This lesson serves asa key link in enhancing students'phonetic awareness and lays a solid foundation for theircomprehensive English language proficiency within this unit and in further studies.ll.Analysis of the StudentsAt the third -grade level,students have already learned some basic English letters andsimple words,but their understanding of letter sounds and phonetic rules is still in the initialstage.They may have difficulties in accurately distinguishing and pronouncing the sounds ofdifferent letters,especially when these letters are used in words.Additionally,their writingskills for English letters need improvement,as they might not be fully familiar with the correctstroke order and writing.However,third-grade students are full of curiosity andenthusiasm for learning new things.They are more likely to be engaged in learning activitiesthat are vivid,interesting,and interactive.Therefore,in teaching,it is necessary to designteaching activities that combine fun with practicality,use a variety of teaching resources,andcreate engaging learning situations to attract students'attention,stimulate their interest inphonics learning,and help them overcome difficulties in mastering letter sounds and writing.lll.Four -Dimensional Goals of Core Competencies1.Language AbilityStudents will be able to perceive and summarize the pronunciations of letters Mm,Nn,Oo,Pp and their sounds in words through rhythmic chants and sound-segmenting activities,improving their phonetic recognition and pronunciation accuracy.They will also be able towrite these letters correctly,enhancing their writing skills in English.2.Cultural AwarenessCultivate students'interest in the English language and its cultural background by exploringthe sounds and forms of English letters,which are an essential part of English-speakingcultures.
